When you become pregnant your friends may throw you a baby shower.
It is customary for your friends and families to bring gifts for your baby and yourself. These include toys and clothes and maybe other usual items like diaper disposal systems.

In the last few years it has become popular to have a gift registry for baby showers similar to that of a wedding registry.
If you do this you can select different gifts you want to be given. Although don’t go too over the top as you may lose friends if you are too greedy.

Have any of your friends or family had babies recently? If so they may be willing to donate some old baby clothes to you or even toys and a stroller.
This is a common way to get free baby stuff that people have been doing for decades.
Generally sisters or friends who have kids will give you old baby clothes that their baby has grown out of. It is a great way to get free stuff and as well as getting stuff for your new born you could also get items for when your kid is a toddler or older

Thrift Stores

Thrift stores are great places to find cheap baby stuff be it clothes or larger items like cribs.
You can generally find deals in them and may be able to get your baby a whole wardrobe for only a few dollars.
Have a look around a few of them and do some digging. Also you maybe able to ask the owner to give you a call if new baby items come in.

Free Stuff Online

There is another way to get not only free but also new baby stuff and that is via the internet.
Many baby companies will give new moms and dads free baby stuff to test out or to report on.
The will give you diapers and toys, strollers and cribs.
Generally they will ask you to do a small survey in exchange for these items.

This is a win win for you and the company. You get the free items and they get feedback on the product.
There are many sites that offer this service. All you have to do is fill out a small form and then you are told via email about different offers.
Many websites as well as having free baby products also have goods for when your kid is older and in some cases even stuff for moms.
